The following year three new Skidboards had been completed and were ready to be tried out. Kim's board measured two and a half foot in diameter whilst his father and Roger both boasted three footers - all three were made of half inch thick marine plywood - twice as thick as the one before. All three boards worked perfectly, managing a good fifty yards in distance.

All through the holidays and at weekends from 1967 to 1969 they could all be seen mastering the art of this new sport, being joined by several other enthusiasts from neighbouring beach huts. By 1970 the sport had really caught on and nearly 20 Skidboarders could be seen performing their skills all year round - many of them adopting to wear long knee length trousers together with jumpers and rubber gloves to keep out the cold.
